Reconnect to your body, settle your mind & drop into your heart.
Begin your journey of Self-Discovery.
Yoga is for everybody, but not all Yoga is for everybody.
In this space you will discover practices that are appropriate for your body and mind, considering the seasons, and the astrological configurations of the time.
When Yoga was developed, it was only for renunciates, for people that had no more responsibilities in the world, and could retreat in an ashram, under the guidance of a guru and dedicate their whole life to Yoga.
Not many of us have this choice in life, to release all responsibilities and retreat in the mountains. As householders, we have many responsibilities, and as humans we have the blessing of a human body & mind, which creates a bigger responsibility...to walk the path of Self-Discovery.
The practices shared with you inside the studio are designed to keep your immune and nervous systems stimulated, develop resilience, strength & stability. Along the way your body will become stronger and reach a level of flexibility and mobility that is appropriate for your body type. In this studio we practice Yoga that creates stability in hypermobile bodies, and increases flexibility and mobility in the bodies that feel stiff and stuck.
When we work with our body, we create a connection to our mind. Through Yoga we begin to mobilise, increase flexibility and stability in the mind, so that we can walk the path of Self-Discovery while carrying for our responsibilities as a householder, and discover the guru within.

INTRODUCING...
Milanam Yoga Online Studio
Solar & Lunar practices to ignite your fire and cool you down, creating balance, harmony on your journey of Self discovery.
Yoga is a journey of self-discovery.
"When your mind is settled, you abide in the truth of your nature." Patanjali Yoga Sustras
Yoga is not a merely a physical exercise, it is a technology developed to take you from your physical body all the way to your spirit. Along the way it will be healing, uncomfortable sometimes, magical and mystical, and ultimately the goal of Yoga is for revelation and illumination.
The role of a teacher in my lineage is to create a safe and inspiring space for the students to go on this journey. I am here to guide you on this journey with:
- Monthly Live Calls with extended practice and community Q&A.
- Weekly pre-recorded practices to support your home practice.
- Guided meditations, Pranayama and Yoga Nidra
- Workshop style classes to dive deeper with storytelling, philosophy and yogic scripture, Yoga Asana, Ayurveda & Vedic Astrology.

Develop your home practice
Yoga works best when it is developed in a community of teacher and students, but this practice is an intimate and personal journey.
The practices and teachings inside the studio and the community will support and guide you in developing a regular short home practice.
The effects of Yoga will ripple into your life, when the practices are repeated with commitment and disicipline.
The effort in Yoga is in showing up.

Yoga beyond the physical
Yoga āsana, Prānayama, Meditation & Yoga Nidrā
The postures and shapes of Yoga are not random, and though they will target physical spaces and muscles in your body, these postures are very intentional in creating a distinct effect in the subtle body.
Through breathing practices and meditation we can increase our vitality and establish a steady & calm mind.
Yoga Nidrā also known as Yogic Sleep will support deep healing, deep rest, revelation and regeneration of every cell in the body.

Nervous system care package
Hatha Yoga is an integrated approach to care for your nervous system.
I share Yoga with the intention to create a state of balance and harmony, stimulating the parasympatethic & sympathethic nervous systems. Our nervous system is made up of the same pollarities that Yoga teaches us we carry.
Hatha Yoga can support clear communication within our nervous system, carrying harmonious messages between our brain and spinal cord.
Hatha Yoga enhances our life force and helps us align our physical and energetic body.
A ghee lamp will continue burning as long as there is ghee.
A fire is what sustains the process of transformation. The ghee is the essential nourishing aspect, that is absolutely necessary for the fire to burn. Yoga teaches us how to tend to the fire.
The practice of Yoga is a transformation process for the body & mind, that works on this same principle. To achieve a sustained, stabile process of transformation, we require the fire as much as we require the ghee.
In the tradition of Yoga these two principles are called Agni & Soma. Agni is the principle of fire, transformation, purification, destruction and illumination. Soma is the principle of nourishment, nurturance, soft, cool and dark.

Hatha Yoga means Sun & Moon Yoga
Yoga is about balancing the pollarities embedded in creation, including your body and mind. The Sun is masculine, active and assertive, just like your left brain. The Moon is feminine, intuitive and creative, just like your right brain. Our life and practice can easily become a push and pull between these two principles, and Yoga teaches us how to stop being pulled and pushed and establish a balanced and harmonious life.
Yoga not only works on your body, but also on your mind. Every thought you have creates a vibration which will affect your actions, and eventually create your destiny. Yoga is the commitment and discipline of befriending and mastering your mind; and we get to the mind, through the vehicle of the body.

"In Yoga we enter a sacred realm beyond time & space. We find insight into the mistery of our spiritual potential and answers to the universal search for truth, meaning & significance. What was hidden from view, becomes plain to see."

"Before starting to commit to yoga on a regularly basis, I felt that I have lost the connection between my mind and my body. Although physical exercise has brought some easy to my mind in the past, the impact has often been only short term. Your yoga practice has showed me more sustainable ways, and tools to reach that calm state of mind, and also ways to come back to it especially in challenging times."

Her knowledge and passion of Yoga, Ayurveda and Jyotisha transpires in all that she teaches and shares. Her yoga sessions are deeply therapeutic and accessible to all kind of bodies & abilities. Highly recommend getting in touch with her for any of her offerings. No doubt that it will be the first step towards a journey of healing body & soul."

"Yoga with Gabriela is so much more than getting into strange positions on a mat(which of course you still do). Her knowledge has helped me grow, heal and find myself. In my everyday struggles, I hear or feel something Gabriela has taught me and the technique to help me through.
I feel so lucky to be part of Gabriela’s sangha."
Sally Rose
Hi! I'm Gabriela.
I offer Yoga and complementary holistic therapies to support people in reconnecting with their body, mind, spirit and ancestry.
I first stepped on a Yoga mat in 2013, and since then I consistently and gradually increased the effects of Yoga, and completely transformed my life.
In 2019 I went on a solo trip to India to pursue a 500 H Yoga teacher certification, and do my own version of Eat.Pray.Love, heavy on the eating and praying part. I did find a new found sense of love when I discovered the depth of wisdom that India & the Vedic tradition has to offer. I found my teachers and sangha across oceans, within the lineage of Swami Dayananda Saraswati, and I have been on continuous education in the online space with my teachers and mentors since 2019.
Over the past years of deep study with my teachers, I gained a Vedic Astrology degree after 3 years study program with the school of Vedic Traditions, and a 300H Yoga of Illumination Certification with Sarva Rasa Institute. I am currently undergoing a 200H Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant program with the American Institute of Vedic Studies, which I am meant to finish by the end of 2025. I am a Trauma Informed Yoga teacher since 2023 and I do everything in my power to create a safe online space for my students.
I have over 6 years experience in teaching Yoga classes, supporting my students and clients in discovering Yoga beyond the mat. Through programes and courses that I have been developing and teaching over the years, I have discovered a recipe that is ideal for the yogic householder. I am passionate about sharing stories and teachings with you, making Yoga accesible, so that I can help you in developing flexibility and stability, in the body and mind.
I can't wait to share this journey with you!
Working with seasonal changes
The four seasons
Nature is ever changing, and through the technologies of Yoga and its sister sciences, we discover that the changes that take place in nature also take place in our bodies and life.
We are cyclical beings, and we do not have a linear journey in life. Our duty is to create a journey that is aligned with the ebb and flow of Nature. Our health and wellbeing are directly determined by the relationship we have with our environment.
The studio classes are curated to support with seasonal transitions, and help you align with the natural rhythms of the Earth. By establishing a harmonious relationship with our environment, we can sustain a balanced body & mind.
Light & Darkness
In the Vedic tradition we follow the movement of the Sun, which splits the year in two halfs. While the Sun begins to trace its movement southward, we also trace the half dark part of the year. This coincides with the time between Summer Solstice and Winter Solstice. This is a time characterised by darkness & starting to draw in, as the days become shorter and the nights become longer, taking the focus on the internal.
When the Sun begins to trace its movement northward, we move through the bright half of the year, characterised by luminosity, vitality and rejuvenation. This is the period between Winter and Summer Solstice, when the light returns and our focus shifts more on the external.

Yoga for Householders.
As above, so below.
The system of Yoga turns ordinary life, into an extraordinary one. Inside the studio you will discover the magic of consistent Yoga practices designed to reconnect you to you body, mind and soul.
Through regular practice you will discover that though you are in this world, you are also out of this world. Yoga and its sister sciences teach us about how our bodies and minds reflect the patterns of the macrocosm.
As within, so without.

Monthly Live Classes with extended practice and Q&A
We meet a couple of times a month for some live interaction and share an extended practice which becomes your foundation for the current month's theme.
Community is called sangha in sanskrit, and it is a very important aspect of the practice of Yoga. We join in sangha so we can share, contemplate, reflect and marinate in the teachings, together.
A community feature will be launching this summer and you can access it via dektop or mobile app.

Weekly short pre-recorded classes to keep up with your practice
I used to think that my home practice is not valid unless it is a long one, done in the morning with the sunrise. Many times I feel off the wagon of having a regular practice because my responsabilities in life got in the way.

Yoga āsana as sacred architecture
My yoga journey has taken me into practicing many styles of Yoga over the years, and after having suffered repeated injuries, I discovered I carry the hypermobile pattern. I always wanted to create a safe space for practice, so I dove deeper into exploring safe and accesible ways of moving the body and stability, that comes from within.
The postures and shapes we take in Yoga are part of a greater mistery of the sacred architecture of the body.

Yoga Nidrā, Prānayama and meditation
Yoga has an array of tools and practices that can be used to establish supportive breathing patterns which can calm and pacify the mind.
Yoga Nidra also known as Yogic Sleep is a state of consciousness of deep rest & revelation, capable of removing obstructive patterns in your body, and personality.
I share accesible, yet effective breathing practices designed to regulate your nervous system and prepare you for deeper states of meditation.

Solar & Lunar Practices
Just like our body and mind changes all the time, so does our Yoga practice. Depending on circumstances, we will sometimes need energising and revitalising Solar practices, other times we may need grounding and pacifying Lunar practices.

Mantra chanting
Saṇskṛt is a language made of sacred sounds. The Vedic traditions teach us how the entire universe arises from a single sound. Each object in the world is an expression of sound and vibration, which holds a specific message about the meaning and purpose of the universe as a whole.
Yoga teaches us how our psyche mirrors cosmic sound in the structure of our subtle body and its chakra centres, which are mantric formations.
We use simple mantra chanting for purification of the subtle body, and to train the mind's capacity to focus, and enter deep meditative states.
"I've had the pleasure to have been taught by Gabriela in various places over the past year or so - I couldn't recommend her more! Her approach to teaching is one which I feel honoured to experience; equally her practice and focus on aspects beyond asanas and towards gaining a deeper background and understanding of any practice is something I really appreciate!"
Robert
"I never thought I would get to love yoga classes so much. Before I found Gabriela's classes, I tried a few courses, but none felt so natural and relaxing like working with Gabriela."
Alexandra
"Gabriela is a superb teacher and her "talk through" of each movement has taught me to be more conscious of different parts of my body and how I move."
Janet
"She is brilliant at explaining things, training your body to get the most from each pose and to keep on moving towards new things. I love how she shares her own training and thinking process, making the classes a shared learning endevour. Gabriela brings people together with humour and kindness, and her classes are a joy."
Georgina
"You are such a great storyteller, I could listen to you talk about this stuff for hours, the way you articulate it, is all so engaging and inspiring."
